Your pet's safety and comfort are our highest priority at Main Street Veterinary Hospital. Whether your pet needs a neuter procedure or foreign body removal surgery, our veterinarians and staff are ready to provide compassionate care using advanced veterinary surgical techniques.
Our hospital is capable of performing a variety of surgical procedures, including spay and neuter surgeries, tumor removals, and wound lacerations. More specialized procedures, such as orthopedic surgeries, may be referred to a board-certified veterinary surgery specialist.
We understand that surgery can be a stressful event for both you and your pet. We combine modern technology with old-fashioned, loving care to make surgical procedures as safe and stress-free as possible. It is our goal to make your pet comfortable and to provide you with peace of mind. We encourage you to ask questions about your pet's procedure and welcome you to call and check on your pet following surgery.
Prior to surgery, your pet will undergo a full physical examination, blood tests, and a pre-operative evaluation. Our surgeon will use this information to develop an anesthesia protocol designed to meet your pet's specific needs. Main Street Veterinary Hospital places an emphasis on pain prevention and uses only safe and gentle forms of anesthesia. During surgery, your pet's vital signs are monitored by a trained veterinary technician using a Doppler blood pressure monitor and other advanced monitoring equipment. Warm blankets surround patients while in recovery and all surgery patients awaken in a nurse's arms and are held until they can sit up on their own.
